Explain how a center tap push - pull gdt works? | Electronics Forum ...
Ok, thanks to ChrisP58 in another thread, he suggested the possibility of changing a circuit design with a single Primary GDT and offered the Center Tap GDT. He gave me a simple explanation which is understandable, for a guy like me. ChrisP58,The two NPN transistors are internal to the PWM...

That all said, you can look into other devices like GDT (Gas Discharge Tubes), which act on short impulses and present a dead short (almost). Once they fire, the residual voltage is less than the trigger voltage.

Solid State Tesla Coil Burning Mosfets | Electronics Forum (Circuits ...
The problem I'm having is to see my GDT Waveform correctly I need to ground on one output and probe the other on each separate coil. Now the low sides are tide together at ground (low side fet source). High side GDT's outputs connect to gate and source of the high side fets. So I can't see a high and low gate waveform at the same time.

Hi, Do you know why the switch S3 in the attached LTspice sim is not working? Ive been doing switches like this for 10yrs plus, and never had one like this not work.

High power adjustable switching power supply (SMPS) 3-60V 40A Help
Somehow I thought this was a push pull, but its a 2 trans forward, the gdt is wired in phase so both trans's are on at the same time. D7 and D7' conduct when the igbt's are off to reset the trans. So maybe as pointed out check the o/p diodes, then maybe transformer coupling, the gdt should be trifilar wound, and then perhaps the compensation.

Help to identify a component | Electronics Forum (Circuits, Projects ...
The components are in a CDI unit. Pls. refer to the white bead-like component. I assume it's some sort of volatge clamp. It is connected across the high end of the discharge cap and the ground. I would say that's a GDT, however I know only cylindrical GDTs.

what value of capacitor to use for surge protection 240V
So we use an MOV, GDT, avanche diode, etc to make that earth connection. Critical is not the protector. Critical is how a connection to earth is made. For example, if a wire is too long (ie ' more than 10 feet'), has sharp bends, is inside metallic conduit, etc, then protection is compromised. Two factors apply to 240 volt protection.

how use mosfet driver? - Electronics Forum (Circuits, Projects and ...
If you want to step up the voltage than you can use a gate drive transformer, you could use such an item with the gate driver ron mentioned, you get step up and isolation with a gdt. Red to black, black to red and blue to bits.

Electromechanical Relay & Snubber Circuit | Electronics Forum (Circuits ...
Hi I intend to use a MCU pin to control, via a npn transistor, a 9V DC relay coil which switches on the primary of a transformer (inductive load?) of a device. Let's say the load takes up either max 4A/240VAC, or 5A/110VAC). On the DC end, I know it is recommended to use a flyback diode...
